I’m originally from Decatur, AL and relocated to North Carolina in 1965 for my father to teach at NC State University. Both of my parents were born and raised in New Bern, NC with one older sister in CA and a younger brother that lives in NC. In 1988, I moved to Youngsville with my spouse. We have fur and feather babies and enjoy reading, relaxing, spending time with my dogs, horses and spouse.
I’m very passionate about animals. I was visiting a rescue farm where we had previously adopted a dog. The dog had been raised to hunt, but when “not good enough” he was just turned out and was eventually hit by a car, left for dead on the road. We were visiting the original “rescuers” to show how well the dog was doing (happy ending). While there, a horse caught my attention. He was a bit older and no longer useful as a show horse so the owners no longer wanted him. They were planning to have him “put down” but contacted the rescue farm. I’m so thankful for him as he is the sweetest, gentlest, most loving creature and doing wonderfully. There is No Excuse for Animal Abuse & neglect.
Besides my passion for animals, I’m a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy and American Radio Relay League (amateur radio)
I have been in insurance since 2005. I really enjoy helping to educate others about insurance so they understand and can make better, informed decisions. A happy, satisfied customer makes my job so rewarding.
